Just a personal anecdote consistent with what has been said about a basic
defect in tooth enamel ... within the past few years we have had three
babies in our family with this problem.  Two were children of nephews; the
latest was my own grandson, whose problem was not diagnosed until he was
almost four years old (about a year-and-a-half after he had weaned).

His dentist, a pediatric dentist, appeared quite knowledgeable.  This
dentist told my daughter that she had done nothing wrong nursing him at
night and that he would have had problems because of this congenital
problem, no matter what the feeding method (in fact it might have been worse
had he been fed ABM).  The dentist also felt that the youngster's permanent
teeth would be just fine.  The little guy had repairs done under sedation,
including a crown on one of his front teeth.
