Smile of the day: I had a FP resident, who I had known since she was
young, Bf her 3 babies during last yr med school and residency. Her cousin
was also BF - good influence. She attended our LLL mtgs faithfully.
Figure she has to be a great dr!
Anyway at LLL mtg I had just learned "the tummy to tummy" bit and showed
everyone with a teddy bear at the meeting that night. She had her first
baby that night! Next am nurse came in, dumped baby in her lap and said
"Breastfeed." and waltzed out! She said she sat there with baby staring at
ceiling, wondering what to do! Then she remembered the talk on
positioning, bared her breast, turned baby "tummy to tummy", smart baby
latched on and the rest is history! Then there was the day she was in a
long surgery. She asked the surgeon if she could be excused. He said -
sarcastically "full bladder dr?" She said "no, full breasts" and went off
to express! She's somewhere in CA now, probably being a big help to
families. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
