In response to whether Baby-Friendly is important to birthing centers and for
home births, I think it could be.  If you follow the ten steps then you will
hopefully avoid the harmful practices found in most hospitals.  By making
these steps a must  in any setting you are insuring that the mother has the
opportunity to education and support necessary to be successful.  Depending
on the culture, implementation might vary considerably.
