OK, I simply have to respond to this. One of the best books ever written,
IMHO, is called Wicked and is an allegory about the Wicked Witch of the
West. She was, in the book, born with razor sharp teeth...and her mother
was unable to breastfeed her because of that. In fact, she bit off the
midwife's finger if memory serves me correctly.

There you have it...your daughter is absolutely right. She'd love the
accounting of this in Wicked...can't remember the author's name, but Email
me privately if you have trouble finding it. I'll get it out of my home
library and give you ISBN # etc. This is not a children's book. It is a
serious adult fairy tale/ allegory written by a philosophy professor. Boy,
does he understand these things. I have read it twice....it is absolutely
"cannot put it down" reading. Great for hot summer nights! Thinking about
it makes me want to read it again!!! Thanks for reminding me.
