How could I have forgotten this during the thin chart thread?

last winter a 4 month old was sent to my as an out patient peds consult
because of a one week cough and question cyanosis episode.
I admitted the baby over night for observation and sent NP washings for RSV,
pertussis, chlamydia etc. baby never needed oxygen and had a positive RSV. I
sent her home the next day.
At the same time there was a 9 month old on the floor with RSV needing
oxygen.
There were nursing students there at the time and I pointed out to them the
difference between a formula feed smoke exposed baby and a breastfed not
smoke exposed baby.

Before deciding to admit the baby I was talking to mom in the office exam
room and she asked if it was OK to nurse the baby there. Image a mom asking
me that. :-)
