Hi All,
just wanted to share. Today I met a doctor who has given up her job
because she can't cope with it anymore. She was training as an OB and
started out with ambitions to change the world. It didn't happen and she
got stress-related illnesses, so she chucked it in. She had all kinds of
views on breastfeeding and natural childbirth (she'd fit in well on
here, I think) and although not terribly well informed, she had such a
thirst for knowledge. She said that no matter how hard she tried, she
just couldn't "fit in" in the medical profession in UK. I felt so sad.
Things will never change if doctors like her can't get to the top of
their professions and get to the point where they actually have the
*power* to change things. :-(
