The story on lactational atrophy seems to be yet another variation of
the old story --If a breastfeeding woman walks in the doctor's office
with an unusual problem, esp if it is sexual in nature, the answer is
"wean".
When it comes to postpartum sexuality, I remember there being a survey
(Redbook??) in the early 80's that showed that breastfeeding mothers
were, on average, likely to resume sexual activity earlier than
non-breastfeeders. So, do you ever think we'll see the day when if a
postpartum woman walks in to doctor's office with an unusual problem,
esp one that is sexual in nature, and if she's not breastfeeding, the
answer will be "relactate"??
