Regularly finding opportunities to encourage older group members to form
their own groups outside of the hospital group - with other moms with similar
interest, home location, toddlers, whatever. Make suggestions to facilitate
the establishment of these groups - meet for strolling & lunch at the mall,
picnic at the park... . For the mom who voices interest in organizing a
group - send around a sign up sheet and make copies to facilitate networking.
I see moms years after they came regularly to New Moms group at the hospital
and they frequently will report that their play group still gets together.
I still have plenty of older group members to model and teach the newer moms
- just not an overabundance.
