Cathy, I have to agree with you about WIC moms and the use of those heavy, bulky, back straining carriers they use. I honestly think some don't know there are other ways to tote a baby around. What if those of us involved with WIC pushed for allowing WIC funds to pay for baby slings? If we could get them with the "Loving Support Makes Breastfeeding Work" logo printed on them, think of the strong message that would give for breastfeeding and attachment parenting. WIC now allows food dollars to be spent on breast pumps. Spending some of that money on slings might go even farther to support breastfeeding as the cultural norm. What do you think?
