Pat, pardon me if you need to point me to the archives on a different
abbreviation. Also, anyone who can't stand someone else climbing onto a
personal soap box should delete this message right now and accept my
apologies for hogging up e-space.
My personal gripe about abbreviations is "bm" when it's used to mean breast
milk. In hosptal-eze, bm means bowel movement, and many hospitals even have
this on their "approved" list of abbreviations. It just drives me nuts when
people use "bm" to mean "breast milk."
Personally, I like Paula Meier's term of MOM (mother's own milk.) She uses
the term to distinguish between mother's milk and donor milk, but I still
just like MOM because I like the idea of MOM from mom!
