Just wanted to keep you all updated on the status of my hip. On 7/12 I met
with a doctor who believes he may be able to shore up the bone. However there
are a lot of provisions. I am starting out with three strikes against me for
doing the transplant and it will most likely take care of the pain but it
probably will not make it so I can walk.
I still plan to go ILCA in 2 weeks. If everything holds together. SO if you
see a lady in a wheelchair all braced up, that will be me.

Last night my 8 year old Ariel was climbing up the later to the 20 meter
diving board at the local pool (something she's done a hundred times) and
fell 8 to 10 feet to the ground. She broke both feet; one is still a *maybe*
but she can't walk even with crutches, the left foot is definitely broken in
several places; and broke her nose. She didn't have a concussion but she was
pretty disoriented for a while after it happened. She has to go for more
x-rays and cast(s) on Monday.
She doesn't seem to be in any pain. Just kind of upset by all the fuss. Good
thing kids are so resilient. I am thankful it wasn't worse. So much for her
summer swimming.
