OK,
Now I feel the need to comment on this one, too.
Does anyone else see the parallel between this opportunity to chat with,
maybe meet and screen potential milk donors with out all the
bureaucracy, etc... and the opportunity to give birth in your home
(heaven forbid), with the aid of a strange woman who you really don't
know at the beginning of the pregnancy?
Has anyone else contemplating a homebirth had people ask how you could
possibly put your own and your babies health and lives in the hands of a
woman you know nothing about? Just on your own impressions of this
woman, and maybe the recommendation of a friend?
Whose decision should it be? Who are we empowering anyway?
What kind of screening do you think the Wet Nurse of little King George
(or whichever from a previous post) had to go through?
