Kathy,
Haven't women throughout history stopped breastfeeding even when no formula
was available then used wet nurses or animal milk? Still happens today
doesn't it? So would stopping WIC formula handouts really make a large
difference? Don't you think a lot of women would buy formula and water it
down?
I just saw a 4 month old how developed clinical reflux. Mom stopped formula
and was feeding him juice, fruits and vegetables.
"If *I* ran the world, WIC would immediately cease all formula handouts and
put that money into breastfeeding support. "
When I'm asked to nominate someone for world philosopher-king I'll keep you
in mind. But to let you know I have other potential nominees, Jack is one.
