OK, I have had 4 calls this evening from moms who have returned to work in
the past two weeks. All four have had significant decreases in the amount of
EBM they are getting during pumping sessions. All four were pumping about 4
oz in a session, pumping twice at work and about 2 times at night. Now all
are getting about 2 oz during a pumping session. I am thinking it is a
combination of stress related to going back to work, overdoing it physically
and also the heat ( heat index today was 100 degrees again). Can the heat
affect breastmilk production? All four started Fenugreek this week. All are
using the new portable double pump by M. Any thoughts? No one is on birth
control or any meds other then prenatal vitamins. All have 3-4 month old
babies. The babies were all taking 4 oz bottles last week and have increased
to 6 oz this week so all moms are stressing that they can't keep up with
this. Do you think the babies went to day care, saw those big huge bottles
of ABM that the other babies have and are falling in to peer pressure?
Other then Reglan, any suggestions?
