I was asked by one of the nursing supervisors in a local hospital if any
studies have been done about positions for the NURSING staff in order to
avoid back injuries during breastfeeding assistance.
I thought of various tricks I use:
raise the bed
Use the football hold so I'm standing next to mom rather than leaning over
her in order to assess attachment (I can then bend my knees keeping my back
straight
SHORT helping sessions - don't keep on trying for 45 minutes at a time...
Any others?
Anyone studied this with the help of Ergonomics?
