I agree with Pat that it's very useful to be able to have announcements
about conferences here. Also not meaning to be difficult - just don't
understand why this is a no-no. Is it considered analogous to advertising or
something? Because I don't think it is. Or if, for example, our local BF
coalition were putting on a conference (heaven forfend!), and we wanted to
let people know about it, could we let, say Pat in SNJ, who wouldn't have in
any stake in our lordly putative profits, know about it and *she* could post
the info?
