Dear Rachel,
You may want to check out the "dimple ring" marketed by Chele
Marmet at the Lactation Institute in CA. This is a device which is
fastened at the base of the nipple to keep it from re-inverting after a
nursing session. It is meant to be used for a few minutes in order
to give the nipple a chance to dry out before it goes back in. Have
never used them myself, but have seen them and it sounds like
something that could help in your mom's situation. Has anyone
out there used them?
Warmly,
Sharon Knorr, BSMT, LLLL, IBCLC
