Re: chess competition, women -
"To the consternation of the chess world..."
Originally when I skimmed this I thought it said "...the chest world..."!
Which maybe is what the writer or speaker intended, since it refers to BFing
during a chess match...

Picked up a Vanity Fair this weekend. May edition, Page 166. Spotlight
"Sport of Queens"
The article highlights three sisters who are among the worlds top
chess players. It starts " 'Women will never be able to play chess as well
as men. They are biologically programmed to be distracted by the sound of a
baby crying. They do not have the necessary powers of concentration.' Thus
confided Mikhail Botvinnik world chess champion of the world 40 years ago to
a colleague"
When discussing one of the sisters' defense of her world title later
down the page "Zsuzsa....will be putting Botvinnik's strictures to the test
this spring....To the consternation of the chess world, or at least the male
end of it, Zsuzsa plans to breastfeed during the match. And, yes, she
admits, 'I could be distracted'."
