Hi,

>heart looses. Hence the conflict.

Except to me, as a person who breastfed as much with my brain as with my
breasts (I don't "enjoy" breastfeeding, I just could not tolerate giving
my babies anything that would harm them), breastfeeding is the only
logical choice. Artificial feeding makes no sense at all, unless it is
really the only option left to you. Where is the logic in choosing a
feeding method that is not only potentially harmful to your child's
lifelong health, it is also more work and costs more?

I actually think we should appeal to the brain with regards to
breastfeeding, rather than just to the heart. We don't all enjoy it
(only today, I read of mothers wanting to wean because they didn't
"enjoy" breastfeeding). Some of us actually find it difficult to
tolerate; but no one ever said being a mother was easy. Some times, the
*right* path is the harder path (in the short term).

I don't believe the vast majority of mothers have any idea how important
breastfeeding is. They wouldn't give it away so easily (often without so
much as reading a book on it), if they did. I also resent having to pay
taxes to support our overstretched health services, in UK, because so
many millions of mothers "choose" to ABM feed.

Incidently, I rarely talk like this, but tonight I have my blood up :-(
