You're right.  Contact with lesions is the only documented case of post
vaccination transmission.  There was a question originally in this thread as
to whether there was a prodrome after vaccination.  Studies have not shown
there is.

The original thread regarding Varivax was in response to a question of
whether it was contraindicated for breastfeeding mothers.  I was reaffirming
Rob's post saying it wasn't.  My statement regarding covering lesions was for
the breastfeeding mother.   My husband is a Vaccine Specialist for Merck.  He
would be happy to answer any questions you have.

I am glad your office nurses are attending Bill's Epi-Vac teleconferences.
We've seen everyone since 1994 and they are an excellent source of
information.

Hopefully this clarifies the issue.
