Dear Maureene and all,
This may not be worded in the way you requested....but here goes.
IMHO babies who breastfeed during the first hour or two after birth have
fewer problems, also not giving routine supplements as a rule and letting
the baby learn to latch onto the breast/areola and imprint on mom. I
noticed a marked change on our pp ward after 1987 when these policies
were changed/improved......there was less time needed at the bedside
coaxing a baby to latch.

Survived my son's 10th birthday party this evening, 5 silly, rowdy,
noisy, lovely boys. They anxiously inspected Dad on his arrival home,
one of the boys let slip that my son had told his friends his dad worked
for a secret government agency named IMI. The company is named
IMI-Cornelius, they design and manufacture beverage dispensing equipment,
such as used in fast food restaurants and in hot climates (such as
Australia, hello all there!) We are still laughing about it! :-)
