Hey there, all you lactnuts!

I have a question for you. A woman on an email list I'm on has a question
and I can't think of a better source of information than you folks. In a
nutshell, she's planning to adopt two babies from the Ukraine, probably
around a year old. These babies have NEVER nursed. She has never nursed a
baby, as she's been unable to conceive.

Her question? Is there a way she can stimulate lactation? I know in a
newborn you can use the SNS with some success in stimulating some kind of
milk production. But would that work in older babies who have "bonded" to
bottle?? Are there hormone injections? (She's got some months before she
gets these kiddos, so I'm sure she'd do whatever she could to prepare her
body). Is it worth even trying it?

She's very committed to nursing, so I know she'd follow any protocol that
was given to her. She just needs somewhere to start.

Any information you could provide would be SO helpful!

Thanks in advance,
