the person i refer babies to for craniosacral treatment says a precipitate
birth is a strong indication of a need for some of this type of work. birth
events that cause unusual pressure or positioning of the cranial bones can
put pressure on those magic nerves that control the mouth, sucking, tongue
etc. (a precipitate birth doesn't gived the baby's head time to mould
slowly.) my beginners knowledge of c/s work suggests that this is why some
babies can't suck or don't suck properly but seem to "grow out of it" as
their bodies grow and things move back into a more proper place.
