It is difficult to say whether the child who was treated with
amoxicillin for otitis media had the reaction to the amoxicillin or
one of the components of the product (fillers, flavoring etc.).
Sometimes changing from one company's product to another company's
product (with the same active ingredient) can cause the problem.
Would suggest that mom always inform the clinician of this previous
response so that she and the clinician can plan out the best care for
the child.
