I had to laugh when I read this. Do you realize how few years the internet
has been around? Remember when it started? And it's damn tough to find
intellectual stimulation at home with a baby or toddler with no neighbors.
Not to mention the poignant story of one of the early members of Parent-L
who spent so much time on line with her new "intellectual community" that
her child got into some serious trouble while mom was too busy on the
computer to pay attention to her. Luckily, the mom realized she had a
problem and got off-line completely. Stay-at-home moms can spend as little
time interacting with their kids as moms away at work.
