Not sure about Susan's suggestion that suck assessment could be done at the
first feed...clearly it's a lot better than having a suck assessment done
with a bottle (yikes!) but a formal, sit-down assessment done by someone
who may not even know what they are looking for makes me think some mothers
could be made anxious, and problems could be spotted that aren't real
problems....Instead,  a supportive, encouraging, gentle, low-key
observation without tick boxes or intrusive questioning could be helpful in
some cases....
