That sounds like to few calories to me for a nursing, pregnant woman! This
has to be monitored closely and needs to be individualized. This woman
probably needs to consult a dietician. Most hospital RDs are able to see
moms on an OP basis and help them with this. In Nutrition in Pregnancy and
Lactation by Worthington-Roberts 1985 it states that a 150 lb pregnant
woman needs 2235 cal/day. She emphasizes that support of the pregnancy is
paramount and depending on mom's size and the fact that she probably burns
300 cal.minimum on BF per day, I can't see where she would possibly need
less than 2500 cal/day. The fact that she is exhausted is a good clue that
