I expect this is her personal opinion and that she is actually speaking -- in a
show-offy and in-yer-face kind of way for a number of working class English
women. Certainly the barriers to breastfeeding in terms of working-class
women's conflicted attitudes to men -- fear of their violence and displeasure at
war with fear of losing them -- and the social policy of recent and current
British govt on support for mothers are influences on women's choices with
infant feeding.
Everything she writes is in this kind of tone.
