I would refer this poster and other members of the list who might be
concerned about lactose intolerance in infants to a couple of articles
which deal with the topic.  It has been my experience that the
management of breastfeeding that has been advocated by many
well-meaning, but ill-informed HCP's frequently leads to this type of
problem.

which often results in just the kind of symptoms discribed in this post.

Adult intolerance of lactose is not the same as an infant whose gut has
been overwhelmed by the over-abundant fore-milk that causes symptoms in
these infants.
