I have a mother who is three weeks pp and is experiencing painful swollen
lumps in the armpits.  She had this problem while BF other children but it
resolved quickly.  Her MD feels one is infected and has surgury planned for
this coming Friday.  My suggestions to her were to use cabbage leaves between
nursings, to use heat and massage while nursing and to take Ibuprophen.  Can
others who have dealt with this problem please email with further suggestions
and documentation that surgury might be avoided with treatment.  Thanks Susan
