There is absolutely no argument on my end about this. It is never my
intent to blame people for their illnesses. My point is, that this
business we are in is a stressful one indeed. It can drain a
person...not to mention the frustration associated with constantly
fighting an uphill battle. Stress is truly associated with illness...in
fact, many stress researchers would go one step further and say that it
is associated with death.
I have noticed that Karen Kerkhoff Gromada is now doing a talk on LCs
and codependency. This is not to suggest that anyone of us, in
particular, has codependency issues....but, I sure know a lot of
caregivers (LCs included) who do. What I mean is, some of us have a
tendency to take on other peoples problems and issues to our own
detriment.
To the extent that any illness is associated with this kind of
stress.....we probably need to examine it for our own sakes.
