The marketing director at Chick-fil-A called this morning.

He preferred that I not forward his note to me, and I will abide by that
request.  However, FYI, the note was one of the nicest "no's" I've ever
read.

For those of you who e-mailed an inquiry about using the "Cows Udderly
Agree -- Human Milk is Best for Babies" -- that slogan is mine, and you
have my permission to use it  on bulletin boards, etc.  However.....any
cows you use should be substantially different than the CFA cows.  (Go
back to their web site to take a look if you need a refresher ---
http://www.chick-fil-a.com).  Avoid using placards, or the style of
lettering which they use.  They do not want someone to see the display
and wonder if they are looking at something from CFA.  Since CFA does
own certain aspects of its ad campaign, we need to respect that.

Also, please don't send them flames.  We are professionals.  They are,
too.  All we were doing was requesting support for a project and
promising ours if they would adopt it.  The certainly were not under
obligation.

The marketing director said that tried to respond to each e-mail, and
that it would be helpful not to receive any additional ones, so don't
worry about sending any "thanks anyway" messages.

As of this morning, 200 responses had been received, and I'm sure they
will still get quite a few before everyone is aware that their decision
has been made.

Thanks to all of you for taking the time and energy to try to pull this
one off.  I really appreciate it.
