I tend to think the younger the child, the more important the breastmilk.
But....maybe SOME ebm would help digest the abm. if i had to choose, i would
choose use it now and hope the mom will decide to continue bf.
I know you will get many suggestions like the following:
could the mother continue ebm feeding??? couldn't she be convinced that this
is in the best interest of the baby? maybe she could take a herbal or
prescription galactagogue to help increase her supply? maybe she could be
put in touch with another mother pumping long term for a sick child.? or
local LLL group for support?
good luck.
