Dear Barbara,
I too get a lot of calls from moms who are working and pumping, whose
supply decreases around 3-4 months. IMO, babies go through a "growth spurt",
or whatever we want to call it, and I suggest to mom that she get some extra
rest while home, nurse frequently, take Fenugreek or one of the other
galactagogues. I also suggest two extra pumpings during the day, or one
extra day and one extra night, until she notices an increase in milk.
Usually, the supply picks up.
BTW, I have had no experience with the new double pump by M. Would
those of you who have, kindly email me privately. I will be seeing a new
adoptive mother who has been given the new pump. Told her that I have had no
experience with it, but that I would check with those who have. TIA
