I have tried to figure out how to get around this phrase and come up with the
following.  Maybe someone else can improve on it.

"The breasts make milk 24 hours per day.  It really doesn't make much
difference when you tap into the supply. (There is no reason to wait a
specific amount of time between feedings)  To increase a milk supply or to
prevent engorgement, you need to keep the breasts as empty as possible"
