Wow, now there's one I've never heard! But now that I'm well into the
bifocal years, I see another one of nature's reasons for bearing our babies
when we're young - I can't SEE the babies' dear little faces at nursing
distance, or when they're cuddled up on my chest or shoulder. My arms aren't
long enough to get a good look at them even holding them out at arms'
length! And we'd all have terrible strained, crooked necks if we had to gaze
lovingly upon them through the close-up part of the bifocals.

Just another of Mother Nature's blessings, my dears!
