Cathy,
I agree with feeding this baby in what ever way gets the food in and
emphasizing to the parents the need to feed the baby. Just for more info,
what does this baby weigh?
I recently had an late weekend afternoon call from a visiting nurse with a
bili and weight on a 1 week old breastfeeder who as 87% of BW. I called mom
and the feeding story sounded too good for that weight. No stool and family
hx of Hurshsprungs with work-up done on baby.
Anyway I being nervous sent this baby to the hospital that night for serum
electrolytes, observed feeding and weight check.
Nothing like being cautious
