I just got my snail mail and found a big glossy catalog of supplementary
dietary products. One full page ad was for N** L**** Colostrum, which
caught my eye, and the heading, Feel Better, Heal Better, Look Better.
It proclaimed colostrum was known to: boost immune system, accelerate
healing, burn fat and build lean muscle, increase vitality and stamina
and create an anti aging effect. I read on as it stated what colostrum
was and how important it was to the newborn. It added adults can also
obtain the benefits of colostrum.

Just as I was wondering where they were getting mothers to provide
colostrum, the next bold text proclaimed "Bovine colostrum is the only
natural direct source of IgF-1 and TgF-Nature's most powerful anti aging
substances." Well, now didn't you just know it had to come from cows!

It also stated that "research shows that the immune and growth factors in
colostrum are not species-specific and are easily assimilated by humans."
Anyone know of any research that shows this? And if it (colostrum) is
so good for adults, why isn't there more concern about newborns getting
it? (the real species specific type;-) God forbid the formula companies
get ahold of this and market a new improved "non species specific"
formula!
