Udder creams are made from unpurified lanolin which is classified as a
contact allergin. That is it can provoke a contact dermatitis in the user.
There are additional concerns regarding pesticide residues in udder creams.
Udder cream was fashionable for a short time in South Africa 20years ago.
They taste like hell and are not particularly water soluable! They showed no
proven benefit and there were documented cases of allergy. These creams are
manufactured for Veterinary use not humans.
Lansinoh, is a lanolin based product but it has apparently undergone a
specific process of purification which also decreases the allergins.
