Hello to all of you.  I've been lurking for awhile, and really enjoying the
information on lactnet.  I am a Lactation consultant in a large community
hospital that does betweeen 200 and 250 deliveries per month.  I also have a
Lactation Center at our Women's Health and Resource Center.  I've been an LC
since the first exam eas given and an LLLL since 1974.  Guess that makes me
a "golden oldie."  I have two adult sons, ages 30 and 27.  Both were
breastfed until they weaned.  My younger son is a Navy SEAL.
    Unfortunately, I have seen a couple of babies hospitalized at our
children's hospital for rotavirus.  One was a 6 month old exclusively
breastfed baby that wound up in the PICU with severe dehydration.  The other
was 4 months old and receiving some formula feeds.  Makes you wonder if this
bug is more virulent than it was in the past.  Incidentally, the 4 month old
recovered fairly quickly.
