I have real trouble with the concept that  we can be *sure* that dietary
items in breast milk can cause multiple sensitivities in a very young  baby.

Dee posts  " My youngest is 7 weeks old. He has many, many food
sensitivities. I can
not eat dairy, chocolate, eggs, wheat, citrus, tomatoes, peanuts and corn."

But Dee, how do you know these food items are to blame for your baby's
problems, when he is just 7 weeks?  There hasn't been *time* to do any real
investigations - which I would take to mean removing one food for *at
least* several days (some experts would say five, and I have even heard
some say three weeks), noting symptoms, and then challenging with a return
of the foodstuff to see if the symptoms return.  You have to do this one
food at a time.

It sounds such a limited and boring diet to be on,  and one that's hard to
maintain, too.

I know dietary factors can be implicated in a baby's symptoms, but my own
feeling is we should assume other factors are causing problems before
cutting out a whole swathe of important foods from mum's diet.

Any comments?
