No, the areolar tissue is stretched to "fit" like the skin on a drum.
Elasticity is considered irrelevant, I guess. I've seen two like this, which
means the baby has to try and latch onto skin that feels like the surface of
a volleyball even when the rest of the breast is soft.

BTW, I'm still mostly  "in absentia" - not reading Lactnet much these days.
