Judy,

You can buy loose powder of acidophilus / lactobacillus &/or bifidis
factor labeled for children.  Dr. Sears recommends giving this to
infants in The Baby Book.  It doesn't dissolve well in water, EBM or
ABM.  The easiest way is to dip your finger in the powder and then
put it into their mouth and let them lick it off.  If is great for
diarrhea and thrush.
