With all of the talk about "feeding on demand" or "feeding on cue," I
thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.
We seem to have way too much Babywise/Ezzo parenting around here lately. I
have found that feeding the baby for any other reason than the clock says it
is time seems to meet with lots of resistance. I have started telling moms
that the baby should be put to breast when ever they are "thirsty." Feeding
is seen as something babies do to manipulate the parents. Making a baby go
without fluids when they are thirsty seems worse than letting a baby go
hungry. Living in a desert, it is easier to get this concept across to
moms. Besides, it is easy to ask "How often do you go 3 or 4 hours between
drinks?"
