Mom presented for weight check, one hour late, but baby has gained
another 4 ounces in a day and at 7lb-6oz at 15 days is now just one
ounce shy of birthweight. I got this report from the island nurse.
Although I left messages on the mom's answering machine I have not
yet had a reply. There was a housefire in the home next to hers last
night in which a person died, so this may contribute to distractions.
Apparently there is to be a meeting with the doctor & social worker
tommorrow. I haven't been invited, and I don't know if the maternity
nurse, the wetnurse, or the public health nurse have been invited
either. The PHN hopes she will be able to attend anyways, and I hope
that as many of us as possible could participate in a team meeting
soon.. I plan to send some notes along with some recommendations for
breastfeeding management to the doctor in the morning.
Thank-you for all you ideas.
I appologize for the erroeous dates on my posts. Since we did a Y2K
check our computer is confused. It is now 3:30 Sunday afternoon
pacific time.
I am now going to try and put this out of my head for a few hours and
bake a cake with my daughter!
