Boy, I'm on a roll this week! Opened the "First Moments" packs (you
know those freebie-sample pink bags?) to check out the worthiness of
the "Parents" magazine inside. Ick, again. Their article entitled
"Milky Ways" is full of pictures of bottles and pumps and only one BF
picture (although it *is* an excellent latch, MAJOR close up).

Most of the information is pretty accurate and helpful except for a
couple really stupid things that will prevent me (once again!) from
using their material. Here's a sampling: "[What if I bottle feed?]
First try [breastfeeding] (sounds good so far BUT) ...[but if it
doesn't work out] don't worry that you're compromising his IQ or any
such nonsense. ...practically everyone you know over age 20 was
formula-fed, and most are doing just fine, thank you." "Don't nurse
too long at first." "Apply warm compresses, steamed (!?) cabbage
leaves."

On a more positive note, it DID spell out the equipment required for
bottle-feeding and the time needed to sterilize water, bottles, etc.

As always, the offer to share is there. Just email me and I'll send
it out.
