I'm doing a session at our area LLL conference entitled "the wide
range of normal," in which I'll be talking about not just the middle
of the bell curve but the extremes that were nonetheless apparently
*normal* for that mother/baby (no illness or pathology), and about how
wide and how narrow some of the curves are. I'll be drawing on my own
experiences and those of the audience, of course, but thought it would
be fun to get input from you folks as well. The categories I have
are:
Gestation length, Labor length, Vaginal birth size, Colostrum colors,
Stool frequency - early days, Stool frequency - after 6 weeks, Stool
colors, Stool smells, Nipple size, Areola size, Breast size, Feeding
length/spacing, Weight gain, First tooth, Sleeping through the night,
Starting solids, Weaning, Crawling, Walking, Talking
Think in terms of earliest, latest, biggest, smallest, longest,
shortest, and e-mail me privately with any surprising stories you
have. I'll post the "winners" for everyone to read. And do let me
know what categories I've missed :-)
