Dear Cathy, I too only had the WABF in 1966 (Ok who was born then besides
my 4th kid?). As I was more than a lot desperate for info I read it cover
to cover many times. A few mo later I found Nursing Your Baby written in
1963. THis was written on a more intellectual level. They were THE only
thing around for a LONG time. And of course WABF was much shorter then. I
found the info I needed in the middle of the night and have been grateful
ever since.
I frequently have found moms to respond more to one or the other, not
both. I think it is a matter of style and where you are coming from and/or
need to go to. Today there are many more accurate books available out
there. We need to steer moms to ones that are accurate. Personally WABF
and NYB are still my favs. WABF also has the distinction of being first -
and only - for a significant amount of time. We all owe WABF and LLL a
great deal of respect and thanks. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
