Did anyone watch ER last night? Other than the euthenasia (always wondered
why it wasn't eutheneurope) theme, did anyone notice when Joy, the mother, was
talking to Doug Ross as she was at her son's bedside...she said something to
the effect of, "This was always my favorite time of day, just before dawn.
You felt closest to your child then, just sitting and nursing and rocking him.
Oh, we complained about it, but it was the best time."
It really hit me -- how much mothers are missing out of when they are so
focused on getting the child to sleep through the night that they can't enjoy
that special time just before dawn....just sitting and rocking and nursing....
