<< That is total bullshit! You are right, the doc is nuts, the simplest
solution is for her to lie to the doc re:BFing (it's none of his beeswax
anyway!) >>
>>Is it really necessary for posters to use such vile language? I am no
saint
but I think it is inappropriate and offensive to some of us to use vulgar
language on this list. Encouraging a patient to lie to their health care
provider? That's real nice,NOT!>>
Sure, some are virulent, but ... there are really situtations where we
really want to be virulent (or more worse). To be virulent on Lacnet may
help to stay courteous and diplomatic elsewhere !!!
To lie to health care providers is surely not the first choice, but there
are times where it is really self-defense, the only way for a mother to be
not too much harassed. If a mother fells she is obliged to lie to her
doctor, because she knows he (she) will not listen to her, who is faulty ?
Some
mothers are sturdy enought for fight, but have a thought for the others ...
(I still remember how, when I was the joung mother of my first child, I was
terrified by the pediatrician where I was going for routine examinations, a
real adjutant - I don't know if the term has, in english, the same
pejorative signification as in french when used for a non military person).
Go to another doctor is not always the solution : sometimes VERY hard to
find a doctor "breastfeeding friendly", they are rare species. And the
doctor can be very nice in other fields, and dreadful only about BF, so the
mother wants to keep him (her) as her doctor, and have good relations with
him (her).
